Accelent consultants are all senior marketing, sales and service professionals with operations management expertise and extensive knowledge of business applications and infrastructure. Barbara Angius Saxby,
Founder & Managing Director
Barbara is a senior executive with nearly 25 years experience in strategic marketing, management, and international business development, the past ten as a consultant. Her project focus is process alignment and automation, interim executive management, positioning and messaging, marketing and sales operations including channel development, and market segmentation and analysis.
Barbara has worked with over 40 companies marketing and selling enterprise applications, infrastructure software, and services primarily to IT executives and business users on a global scale. She has proven domain expertise with CRM, BI, ERP, EMM, and SCM including SaaS applications and a range of infrastructure technologies including Web 2.0, BPM, integration, service oriented architecture (SOA) middleware, application development platforms and tools, Internet software and services including social media, networking, and security.
Projects for public companies include defining the strategy for the development of an Enterprise Marketing Management system for NetApp, a long-term global CMO assignment for Ramco Systems (India), and strategic market analysis projects for Neoforma, PeopleSoft, and Sun Microsystems. Prior to consulting, Barbara was VP of Marketing for a few startup companies in the application development space, was a marketing director with Ziff Davis, an Industry Analyst and Group Director with Dataquest for nine years - two of them establishing a research division in Europe. Before Dataquest, she was a research and evaluation consultant at Stanford University. She has B.S. degrees in Psychology and Sociology from San Jose University and completed post-graduate business courses at UC Berkeley in international marketing and software venture financing.
Andy Sayare,
Principal Business Consultant
Andy is a senior business executive with over 25 years of leadership experience with technology companies. He accelerates business growth through interim VP of Marketing roles and strategic project work. Having spent more than a decade buying and deploying technology solutions at dozens of companies in his earlier career, Andy brings a unique understanding of customers’ perceptions of value to his consulting roles. Project work includes messaging, positioning, product marketing, demand generation, process alignment, and the creation of dynamic sales tools to enable both direct and channel teams.
Client engagements include companies such as Salesforce.com, Cisco, Persistent Systems, Ramco Systems, and Genentech. Prior to consulting, Andy served as co-founder and Vice President of Marketing of OuterHarbor / Edge Dynamics (now iMany), a startup that delivered channel commerce management solutions to manufacturers. Andy also served as Vice President of Marketing for RedKlay (now part of Microsoft), an eCommerce platform provider for manufacturers. Andy served as both VP Marketing and Director of Technical and Product Marketing for Applicast (now part of ACS), an ASP delivering SAP and Siebel solutions to early-stage companies.
Before marketing, He was Director of Business Solutions for Strategic Decisions Group, a management consulting firm, and for DSCI (now part of IBM), a systems integrator and application service provider. At DSCI, Andy worked with over 80 companies to evaluate core business processes in order to prescribe and tailor software solutions for automation. Andy led projects to define customer, partner, and stakeholder requirements, build consensus, and deploy software solutions. Andy holds a B.S. degree in Information Systems Management from USF and is certified in Product and Inventory Management (CPIM) from APICS, The Association for Operations Management. Michael Griego,
Principal Sales Consultant
Michael Griego is a sales executive with 25 years of practical high-technology sales and sales management experience. As a Principal with Accelent Consulting, Mike focuses on operational effectiveness, business process alignment, sales, process, and institutionalizing sales and marketing best practices.
He founded MXL Partners, a sales management and training firm, and authored Strategic Sales Execution – the Next Generation Process for Effective Sales and Sales Management, an effectiveness-training program for sales teams in high-tech and non high-tech industries. Michael has served roles as executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Workshare Technology and Active Decisions. Previously Michael was with Zona Research and was Dataquest/Gartner Group’s top Regional Sales Manager for Technology Vendors. Michael also spent 12 years in computer sales and management with IBM Corporation and XL/Datacomp/StorageTek, a national IBM reseller and storage company.

Michael is also a lecturer/instructor at San Jose State University’s Silicon Valley Executive Business MBA Program, UC Santa Cruz Extension, and has been a guest speaker at the Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Michael has a BA degree from Occidental College and an MBA from Stanford University.
Richard Treadway,
Senior Business Consultant
Richard is a senior executive with over 25 years of operations across product development and marketing. He is an accomplished leader in marketing and sales management with a proven track record of delivering innovative products and taking them to the market. Richard's background is distinguished by a unique blend of engineering and marketing experience with an accomplished ability to get things done. As a marketing consultant Richard specializes in helping companies build the business through interim management and process work. He develops effective product messaging and positioning and is very active in developing new products and markets with Web 2.0 technologies for consumer and internet-driven companies.
His most recent interim VP of Marketing assignments include Curl, a platform to easily develop rich internet applications, and Kabira, next generation transaction processing for high-volume, internet- driven business processes. Prior to consulting, Richard served as VP of Marketing and Strategy for KnowNow, a start-up delivering enterprise syndication technologies. Richard also served as Vice President of Products at AvantGo, a leading provider of mobile enterprise software, where he was responsible for determining product direction and strategy, as well as, overseeing engineering and product management.
Prior to AvantGo, Richard served as Vice President of Engineering and Product Management for BEA Systems where he led efforts in developing BEA WebLogic Portal. He held various executive management positions at SCO and Digital Equipment Corporation where he was instrumental in the creation of the X Window and Motif standards. Richard holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont and a B.A. in Sociology from Alfred University.
Julie Anderson Vlahos,
Senior Marketing Consultant
Julie is a senior executive with over 20 years experience in marketing and business strategy. Her experience includes developing strategic business and marketing plans, new business launches, corporate branding, messaging and positioning, customer acquisition and retention programs, business and product development, and process alignment.
She began her career with Swander, Pace & Company, a nationally regarded consumer packaged goods consulting firm. She worked with Fortune 500 clients developing branding, product launch and product management strategies. After several years, Julie began applying this foundation to the technology industry particularly in the wireless and consumer technology sectors.
Throughout her career, Julie has effectively developed, implemented and managed strategic marketing programs as Vice President of Marketing in both large corporate and small/start-up environments. She spent nearly a decade with AT&T Wireless and Intuit building brands from inception and managing brands with more than $500 million in revenue.
Julie has also worked at a number of start-ups, including Rentals, Inc. and Visage Mobile, in a variety of marketing and business development roles. Recent consulting assignments include developing and implemented marketing programs for Intacct, Peek and WirelessWERX. She has experience with enterprise offerings, channel partnerships and solutions for small and mid-size businesses, and business offerings in the software-as-a-service model.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Mass Communications from UCLA and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mark D. Ollendorff,
Senior Marketing Consultant
Mark is a senior executive with more than 15 years of strategic marketing and sales management and international business experience. His professional focus is to help both technology and retail companies reach their desired revenue and profitability goals with strategic business plan creation, corporate brand development, positioning and sales management. He thrives on process alignment work and developing business systems for sales and marketing to ensure consistency and value across the entire organization.
In his consulting role, Mark's client work includes strategic planning and launch of startups, corporate branding and positioning for international organizations, and systems and process development for later stage growth companies. His has designed and implemented marketing and sales programs for public companies including REI, American Airlines, Dick's Sporting Goods and CNN/Sports Illustrated and the Sci/Fi Channel.
Prior to his consulting career, Mark was Director of Marketing Analytics at marchFIRST. The success of his business unit resulted in a complete reorganization of marchFIRST's client initiation process. Additionally, he sold enterprise software (SaaS) and outsourcing services for QuantumShift to global companies and well funded startups. He earned a BS degree from Cornell University and an MBA with an international business and entrepreneurship focus from the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
Don Joslin,
Creative Director
Don Joslin joined Accelent Consulting in 2009. He has more than 12 years experience in brand building and strategy development with a focus on designing direct marketing campaigns, corporate websites and print collateral. Don’s charter is to work with the Accelent strategy team and clients to develop and promote a strong, unified brand ensuring a strategic marriage of copy and design to achieve maximum results for all outbound communications.
He is highly accomplished in demand generation strategy and execution. Don is particularly savvy in understanding how to effectively market in the Web 2.0 world and advises clients how to best leverage social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and other communities, how to build effective standards-compliant websites, and how to increase visibility and demand generation through search engine optimization (SEO).
Prior to joining Accelent Consulting, Don has worked for national Advertising and demand generation agencies which resulted in many effective, high concept and award winning campaigns. Don has also run his own design and direct marketing firm servicing such top-name clients as Xerox, HP, Motorola, and Compaq.
Don holds a BFA from the Academy of Art San Francisco.
Matt Nesbit,
Marketing Systems Consultant
Matt Nesbit brings over 17 years of marketing management and process automation experience to Accelent Consulting where he focuses on system implementation. He is a seasoned integrated marketing professional and has deep domain expertise in marketing programs, field marketing, and operations and has worked for market leaders in business applications and analytics.
Over the last few years, Matt has specialized in improving the effectiveness of demand generation through marketing automation systems and has generated millions of leads through thousands of marketing campaigns for some of today's largest technology companies.
Prior to consulting, Matt worked for large enterprise marketing operations groups like PeopleSoft, Informatica, and Washington Mutual. At PeopleSoft he designed and managed the execution of integrated demand generation programs to drive revenue for a family of Human Capital Management products. At Informatica, a $400M provider of e-business, ERP and data warehouse applications, Matt coordinated and managed field marketing activities and improved cross-selling opportunities by engineering co-marketing programs with alliance partners and resellers. He managed Washington Mutual’s field marketing team and created integrated programs to support the bank’s $40 billion wholesale lending division and designed and implemented programs to improve wholesale channel efficiency.
Matt brings a powerful blend of strategic and creative vision with his practical hands-on experience in executing demand generation programs using the most popular marketing automation and CRM tools.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising from California State University, Fresno.
Catherine Cherubino,
Senior Business Consultant
Catherine is a senior executive with more than 20 years of partnering experience in Alliances, Channels and Business Development with a proven track record for designing, developing and executing strategic partnerships and global programs to accelerate company growth. She brings significant experience in the CRM, Call Center, eCommerce and Talent & Performance Management markets, and has worked for both F1000 and start-up companies. Catherine’s focus is on building high-value partner ecosystems, cultivating a true partnering philosophy, and providing the policies and processes for growth and sustainability.
In her consulting role, Catherine’s client work includes defining partnering strategies, inter-departmental alignment, global program development, territory coverage and account planning, partner marketing programs, and infrastructure, process and system (PRM/CRM) rollout.
Prior to her consulting career, Catherine held various positions at several industry-leading companies including Oracle, Teradata, Liberate, Verity (Autonomy) and Siebel Systems (now part of Oracle) where she was a founding member of the Alliances organization. Catherine has both extensive experience and demonstrated success in working with worldwide industry partners to fuel growth and extend enterprise offerings, creating channels and solutions for small-and mid-size businesses, and partnering in the software-as-a-service model.
Catherine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Howard Rosenfield,
Senior Marketing Consultant
Howard Rosenfield brings over 20 years of operational experience in marketing and sales at both venture-backed startups and public high technology firms. Howard has held senior marketing, product management, business development, and sales positions at Oracle, Apple Computer, and several privately held companies, including Informatica, NeXT Software, and Kenai Systems. He is a veteran at leading cross-functional teams to define and implement processes that span the full range of the business cycle.
Howard spent eight years at Oracle Corporation where he held a full spectrum of technical and business roles that included developing a mid-market channel ecosystem for Oracle’s Application products and working with internal and partner sales organizations to ensure cooperative joint selling. Howard was Vice President of Marketing at Blue Titan Software, a provider of software for enabling SOA solutions, where he initiated and developed the company’s product management, marketing, lead generation, and inside sales functions.
Over the past decade Howard has delivered consulting services that helped a variety of small and large organizations build out their product management and marketing operations. Howard earned a B.S. in Information and Decision Systems from Carnegie Mellon University.
Flora Sun,
Senior Consultant, Analytics
Flora Sun is a senior executive with almost 20 years of experience in marketing analytics. Flora’s expertise spreads over three key functions: business intelligence, advanced analytics, and marketing strategy development. Her versatile skills range from hands-on data-mining and predictive modeling, to managing enterprise level CRM development and implementation projects.
In the past 4 years, she held senior consulting roles with Accenture and InfoCentricity. More recently, she founded her own consulting firm Perfect Sense Analytics. Flora worked with clients in the retail, consumer products, as well as non-profit sectors, on campaign management, targeting, segmentation and predictive modeling projects. Some of the clients included ServiceMaster, Bass Pro Shop, Smith and Hawken, ProFlowers, and University of California Berkeley.
Prior to her consulting career, Flora held various senior roles, including the vice president of marketing analytics, at Providian/ Washington Mutual for 7 years where she managed teams of modelers, business and marketing analysts. Flora has a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Toronto in Canada, and an M.B.A. specializing in International Finance from Dominican University of California.
Sandy Brandt,
Senior IT Services Consultant
Sandy is a high-performing professional with nearly 25 years of domestic and global business experience. She has skillfully managed a diverse range of management functions in startup, high growth and Fortune 500 environments and spent most of her career with Oracle Corporation and TIBCO Software. Sandy excels at combining management and technology, focusing on aligning organizations with the needs of customers and employees.
Her professional focus is Change Mangement, Process Alignment, Program and Project Management, Business Development, "Technology Roadmapping" to visualize, communicate and optimize applications and technology directions, and align them to overall business strategies. Sandy embraces working with both IT Departments and Business Owners to set strategy and oversee the implementation of different tools and develop processes around these disciplines.
During Sandy’s 10 years at TIBCO, in a senior management position, she built a global support team and drove numerous implementation projects ensuring customer productivity and “ease of use”. These included the implementation of an Oracle ERP system, working with Accenture on functionality issues, and implementation of SFDC and Siebel CRM systems. In addition, Sandy was involved in the transition and integration of several acquisitions for TIBCO. She understands the complexity and challenge of transitioning people, data and processes.
Theresa Maloney,
Senior PR Consultant
Theresa is a results-driven senior PR professional who has developed strategic communications programs for public and private companies for almost 15 years. Theresa has extensive experience counseling venture capital and venture-backed telecommunications and software companies in their marketing and communications efforts. She supports Accelent clients on an interim management role or project basis and brings an excellent balance of strategic vision with overall operational marketing execution expertise. She excels at positioning and messaging and developing programs to achieve actionable results. As a PR specialist, her emerging technology clients include Kennet Partners, Trinity Partners, Brand New World, Convey Software, Crystal Ventures, Lifespire, Logware, OmniSky, PointBase, and Telecom Asset Management Group.
Her agency experience is vast with marquee industry leaders. She was a key member of Fleishman-Hillard's San Francisco technology and telecommunications practice - client included Nortel Networks, SBC Communications, IDT Winchip, and Kaiser Permanente. Theresa joined Schwartz Communications to work solely with the emerging technology and healthcare industries. Her teams took eBay through its legendary IPO, and launched Sapient Health Network, a company that would become WebMD. Theresa has held two director-level positions in privately held companies, and a senior management position at a communications agency where her software and communications clients included Wily Technology, Symphony Services, Glimmerglass, and Trigo Technologies (acquired by IBM in March 2004). |
